I do see joy in those couples' faces. And they're becoming people who have more love to share to others as well. I hope their joy will last forever...

Morning, August 31

“On mine arm shall they trust.”

Isaiah 51:5

In seasons of severe trial, the Christian has nothing on earth that he can trust to, and is therefore compelled to cast himself on his God alone. When his vessel is on its beam-ends, and no human deliverance can avail, he must simply and entirely trust himself to the providence and care of God. Happy storm that wrecks a man on such a rock as this! O blessed hurricane that drives the soul to God and God alone! There is no getting at our God sometimes because of the multitude of our friends; but when a man is so poor, so friendless, so helpless that he has nowhere else to turn, he flies into his Father’s arms, and is blessedly clasped therein! When he is burdened with troubles so pressing and so peculiar, that he cannot tell them to any but his God, he may be thankful for them; for he will learn more of his Lord then than at any other time. Oh, tempest-tossed believer, it is a happy trouble that drives thee to thy Father! Now that thou hast only thy God to trust to, see that thou puttest thy full confidence in him. Dishonor not thy Lord and Master by unworthy doubts and fears; but be strong in faith, giving glory to God. Show the world that thy God is worth ten thousand worlds to thee. Show rich men how rich thou art in thy poverty when the Lord God is thy helper. Show the strong man how strong thou art in thy weakness when underneath thee are the everlasting arms. Now is the time for feats of faith and valiant exploits. Be strong and very courageous, and the Lord thy God shall certainly, as surely as he built the heavens and the earth, glorify himself in thy weakness, and magnify his might in the midst of thy distress. The grandeur of the arch of heaven would be spoiled if the sky were supported by a single visible column, and your faith would lose its glory if it rested on anything discernible by the carnal eye. May the Holy Spirit give you to rest in Jesus this closing day of the month.

I hope this message may give strength to all who read it.

kronologis ulang tahun Cindy

Jam 6 keluar kantor, langsung ke Ghim moh buat ambil camera and kunci holland v punya Yusita buat dibalikin ke owner. Jam 632 ngerush ke holland v buat balikin tuh kunci2, ketemu si mrs fake-smiley ma'am and stl semua kuncinya lengkap, lgs cabut jam 642. Diluar hujan gede, langsung tunggu 95 di busstop depan blk 12. Pas di bus, ternyata hp udah mo koit. Samsung batterynya payah si boleh dibilang, gara2 aku pake normal mode seharian, dan disms en dicall sm begitu banyak orang (one day nobody would contact you at all, but on another day actually everybody might contact you at the same time. I dislike both kind of days =s the first one makes you cold, the second makes your battery dead), langsung d sorenya tuh hp mati. Sebelumnya aku uda sempet sms Erlinda. "Aku tunggu di busstop depan rumah Cindy. Aku low batt." Mulai panik. Keliatan Stephanie flatmate Cindy naik ke atas. Akhirnya sneak in ke ivory heights, ketemu steph, tanya cindy di rumah apa nggak. Dijawab nggak. Pinjem telp dr stranger, thankfully she trusted me, uda sempet blg "I'm willing to pay" segala =P tapi katanya nggak usah. Then berhubung telp yang kucatat cuma no nya Ardi, jadilah telp dia. Wew. Lega banget.

Akhirnya Erl dan Cin came by car and picked me up. Udah lumayan panas karena kehujanan dan out of touch segitu lama.

Langsung heboh begitu melihat Cinnamoroll dekat entrance. Foto2 bareng "dia". hehehe. Then, terus ke dlm, menemukan berbagai lantern yang lucu2. Ada giant Purin, Kitty, Daniel, Mimi, Keroppi, Badtz Maru, My Melody, Tabo, beserta teman-temannya. Rating 5 out of 5.

getting thinner?

I've been delaying to buy a belt and I think it's quite urgent for now...or buy smaller waist pants? but quite difficult for someone as tall as me.

what are some possible causes to get thinner?

-too much walking

-too much things done lately

-lack of sleep

-lack of fattening food? or the daily healthy chicken soup at coffee culture? lolz anyway, I don't have appetite for chocolates lately.

Is the end of the world nigh?

GENEVA — Scientists working on the world’s biggest machine are being besieged by phone calls and emails from people who fear the world will end next Wednesday, when the gigantic atom smasher starts up.

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) near Geneva, where particles will begin to circulate around its 27 kilometres circumference tunnel next week, will recreate energies not seen since the universe was very young, when particles smash together at near the speed of light.

And there are concerns it will release energies so powerful that it will create a runaway black hole that will engulf the planet, or a “strangelet” particle that would transform Earth into a lump of strange matter.

Such is the angst that the American Nobel prize-winning physicist Frank Wilczek of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has even had death threats.

The head of public relations,Mr James Gillies, says he gets tearful phone calls, pleading for the £4.5 billion ($11.4 billion) machine to stop.

“They phone me and say: ‘I am seriously worried. Please tell me that my children are safe’,”Mr Gillies said.

“There are a number who say: ‘You are evil and dangerous and you are going to destroy the world’.”

“I find myself getting slightly angry ... What we are doing is enriching humanity, not putting it at risk,” he said.

The outpouring of concern about turning on the experiment, the most ambitious in history, comes as a new report concludes that it poses no threat to mankind.

The report, Review of the Safety of LHC Collisions, proves that if particle collisions at the LHC had the power to destroy the Earth, we would never have been given the chance to worry about the LHC, because regular interactions with more energetic cosmic rays would already have destroyed the Earth.

“Nature has already conducted the equivalent of about a hundred thousand LHC experimental programmes on Earth — and the planet still exists,” it said.

The collider could help resolve some of the biggest questions in physics, such as the nature of mass, the weakness of gravity and whether, as some theoreticians suggest, there exist dimensions beyond our own. AGENCIES

2 Chronicles 32: salah 1 tokoh PL yang aku kagumi

Sennacherib Invades Judah

1After these acts of faithfulness (A)Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah and besieged the fortified cities, and thought to break into them for himself.

2Now when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come and that he intended to make war on Jerusalem,

3he decided with his officers and his warriors to cut off the supply of water from the springs which were outside the city, and they helped him.

4So many people assembled (B)and stopped up all the springs and (C)the stream which flowed through the region, saying, "Why should the kings of Assyria come and find abundant water?"

5And he took courage and (D)rebuilt all the wall that had been broken down and erected towers on it, and built (E)another outside wall and strengthened the (F)Millo in the city of David, and made weapons and shields in great number.

6He appointed military officers over the people and gathered them to him in the square at the city gate, and (G)spoke encouragingly to them, saying,

7"(H)Be strong and courageous, do not fear or be dismayed because of the king of Assyria nor because of all the horde that is with him; (I)for the one with us is greater than the one with him.

8"With him is only (J)an arm of flesh, but (K)with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles." And the people relied on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

Sennacherib Undermines Hezekiah

9After this (L)Sennacherib king of Assyria sent his servants to Jerusalem while he was besieging Lachish with all his forces with him, against Hezekiah king of Judah and against all Judah who were at Jerusalem, saying,

10"Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, 'On what are you trusting that you are remaining in Jerusalem under siege?

11'Is not Hezekiah misleading you to give yourselves over to die by hunger and by thirst, saying, "The LORD our God will deliver us from the hand of the king of Assyria"?

12'(M)Has not the same Hezekiah taken away His high places and His altars, and said to Judah and Jerusalem, "You shall worship before one altar, and on it you shall burn incense"?

13'Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? (N)Were the gods of the nations of the lands able at all to deliver their land from my hand?

14'(O)Who was there among all the gods of those nations which my fathers utterly destroyed who could deliver his people out of my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you from my hand?

15'Now therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you or mislead you like this, and do not believe him, for (P)no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people from my hand or from the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you from my hand?'"

16His servants spoke further against the LORD God and against His servant Hezekiah.

17He also wrote letters to insult the LORD God of Israel, and to speak against Him, saying, "(Q)As the gods of the nations of the lands have not delivered their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver His people from my hand."

18(R)They called this out with a loud voice in the language of Judah to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to frighten and terrify them, so that they might take the city.

19They spoke of the God of Jerusalem as of (S)the gods of the peoples of the earth, the work of men's hands.

Hezekiah's Prayer Is Answered

20But King Hezekiah and Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, prayed about this and cried out to heaven.

21And the LORD sent an angel who destroyed every mighty warrior, commander and officer in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned in shame to his own land. And when he had entered the temple of his god, some of his own children killed him there with the sword.

22So the LORD (T)saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria and from the hand of all others, and guided them on every side.

23And (U)many were bringing gifts to the LORD at Jerusalem and choice presents to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that (V)he was exalted in the sight of all nations thereafter.

24(W)In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill; and he prayed to the LORD, and the LORD spoke to him and gave him a sign.

25But Hezekiah gave no return for the benefit he received, (X)because his heart was proud; (Y)therefore wrath came on him and on Judah and Jerusalem.

26However, (Z)Hezekiah humbled the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD did not come on them in the days of Hezekiah.

27Now Hezekiah had immense riches and honor; and he made for himself treasuries for silver, gold, precious stones, spices, shields and all kinds of valuable articles,

28storehouses also for the produce of grain, wine and oil, pens for all kinds of cattle and sheepfolds for the flocks.

29He made cities for himself and acquired flocks and herds in abundance, for (AA)God had given him very great wealth.

30It was Hezekiah who (AB)stopped the upper outlet of the waters of (AC)Gihon and directed them to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all that he did.

31Even in the matter of (AD)the envoys of the rulers of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of (AE)the wonder that had happened in the land, God left him alone only (AF)to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.

32Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah and his deeds of devotion, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.

33So Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the upper section of the tombs of the sons of David; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem (AG)honored him at his death. And his son Manasseh became king in his place.

Son Dam Bi - Invisible Person

Asking what love is,
listening to his lies, I order coffee
Without answering that it was you,
I put sugar in my coffee

The sugar melts... Like my heart that's sending you away melts
Like the way your heart melts with your love,
I'm like that too... Please understand my love too

You're love... From the first day we met, it was you
Like the way you can't change your blood type... This has already been arranged
If the end of this is tears, I'll let them fall

In coffee, it's sugar and with computers, it's keyboards
When it rains, it's umbrellas and to me, it's you
I need you, I love you; even if it hurts, it's okay
as long as there are no goodbyes

What are you looking at... Am I an invisible person in front of you?
Will you look at me if I scream and shout
I'm right in front of you, right before your eyes

You don't know what love is and you're asking me
If I tell you, could you follow it?
Look at me, can you see the love in my eyes?

La la la........ I'll be smiling
Are you doing well? Am I possibly crying?

The sugar melts... Like my heart that's sending you away melts
Like the way your heart melts with your love,
I'm like that too... Please understand my love too

You're love... From the first day we met, it was you
Like the way you can't change your blood type... This has already been arranged
If the end of this is tears, I'll let them fall

modest, unassuming, beautiful, playful, childlike character, no specific personality, ...joyful??

The modest, unassuming beauty of the daisy has a playful, childlike character that brings joy and happiness wherever it arrives. The many colored options of the daisy provide ample opportunity to match this lovely flower to a specific personality. No other flower can match the daisy for pure joy.

sometimes you actually wonder whether a person who delivers lots of joy is him/herself actually joyful or not...but yeah, rejoice always! Even when typing all this, I don't feel quite joyful. Ironic.

WGM wedding pictures (100th day)

It's funny how they have a photoshoot to commemorate 100th day post-wedding. Unlike people who do pre-wed photoshoot. I love their pics, Andy & Solbi are sooo cute. Crown J and Inyoung are so A! Then Al-Shin are totally classy. May this be an inspiration for people who are taking this kind of pics heheh

friends

I believe that it needs the chemistry to be good friends too. There may be some people whom you care for, but they don't care for you at all. Then you move on from this kind of people. You may also realize that some people whom you never truly care about really care about you, then you start to reciprocate their affections as friends. The best case is always when the care is mutual, but I think this is very rare. Then many others only come and go everyday, asking and answering a few questions, then the conversation just stops there. Why? Cos you really lack common grounds. You also know they can never sympathize with you on your struggle nor joy. So it's quite useless to share those two to them. And vice versa. This is why I only have a few really good Christian friends up until now.

snow white, prince, and the hunter

you sure know that there's a hunter in the snow white story who was commanded by the evil queen to kill snow white and bring back her heart right? have you ever thought that snow white should have married the hunter instead of the prince? the prince only kissed her when she's on her coffin. that's nothing courageous at all.about it. he didn't even fight the evil queen like sleeping beauty's prince who fought the dragon in the scary castle. but the hunter risked being killed by the evil queen yet he has the conscience to release snow white and bring back a pig's heart instead. he was courageous. that is the point. in my opinion, if he's the one he should have run away with snow white at that time and live happily ever after with her heheh

and what kind of prince is cinderella's prince. he didn't even recognize cinderella in her normal clothings. he had to use the shoe to find her. then another would say that cinderella tricked the prince by purposefully leaving her slipper in the palace. cos when she tried it on in the end, the slipper fit her foot exactly. thus the slipper couldn't have been accidentally slipped off.

salad commemoration day 2

looks uglier I know. The baby corns and tomato and dressing were hidden underneath. But it was tasty.

Daisy's Easy Salad 1

Ingredients:

Lettuce leaves (you can buy mixed one too at the supermarket but it's more expensive), washed and dried properly

1 Tomato (throw away the seeds)

1 Cucumber/zucchini (don't use a bitter one)

1 Yellow/green/red capsicum (throw away seeds)

Baby corns (the lightest weight pack) or sweet corn

2 pieces of fried deli ham (until a bit brownish)

3 toasts, shredded (for added carbs, optional)

Dressing (for each salad bowl):

1 spoonful of mayo

2 tsp french dressing

Sprinkles of salad herb (optional)

How to make:

Cut all the vegetables to bitesize pieces (except the lettuce leaves, slightly larger than that). Fry the ham. Toast the bread (5 min). Shred and add to salad bowl. Mix well the ingredients for the dressing. Add to the salad bowl, mix well. Ready to serve.

For 3 servings

Other possible salad ingredients: slices of boiled eggs, mushrooms, peas, cheese, grated carrots

Next time maybe I'll try making potato salad, let's see how =P

women wallow for a few days when they break up. eat ice cream. go on a shopping spree. watch sappy dramas and cry a lot. waste lots of tissue papers. then they'll be fine after those few days.

men don't wallow but i guess they think about it for a much longer time than women do.
